Spring Island, SC Estate Wedding

In early November Katie and Ben held an intimate wedding on his families estate in Spring Island, SC. Amid one of the largest ancient trees, I have ever seen they said “I do”.

First Look at Old Tabby Links Golf Course

Earlier that morning Katie got ready at one of the Spring Island Cottages with her sweet bridesmaids doing an impromptu look before heading to the Tabby Links Golf Course for a first look amidst an avenue of oaks.

On reflection of that day, I don’t think there is an appropriate word in the English language to adequately describe the delight on Katie and Ben’s face throughout their wedding. Adoration might come close.

Okatie Wedding Ceremony under the Trees

After first looks and bridal party photos they headed back to Ben’s family home to hide away before the ceremony. Old church pews were placed under one of the biggest trees I have seen in awhile. It was covered in resurrection ferns that were unfurled and luscious green. Ben and Katie’s golden retriever happily walked down the aisle ahead of Katie and even made a cameo appearance with the cake later that evening.

Micro Reception on Spring Island

This year we have fallen in love with micro weddings and micro receptions at family homes. These intimate settings provide a great atmosphere to highlight what matters most as two people forge into a new adventure together. Storytelling and inside jokes flowed right along with the Veuve Clicquot as dinner was savored over laughter.

As the night came to a close, Ben’s mother shared an envelope for each of her son’s that had been years ago provided by his late grandmother. In each was a letter and a bracelet for their future brides. A seat was lovingly left at the table in her honor.
