Southern Wedding

You know it is going to be the perfect southern wedding when the maid of honor reenacts a scene from White Christmas during her toast as a nod to her sweet sister and their family tradition of watching it every year during the holidays.

On a perfect spring morning we headed to the Redmont for the start of Colleen and Michael’s destination wedding. Unlike a typical morning for a wedding, Colleen’s was relaxed and effortless. Between mimosas and laughter she read her sweet letter from Michael before heading up for first look with her dad.

Joyful First Look

Later, Michael arrived on the rooftop of the hotel for what has been my most favorite first look to date! His reaction to Colleen was pure joy and absolutely priceless to witness.

From the Redmont we headed to St. Francis for a few quick portraits before the ceremony began. It was a simple yet elegant service as it was conducted during Lent. Colleen looked radiant in her Heidi Elnora gown as she floated down the aisle. She and Michael exited the church amid a rain of bright silver shakers before heading off for some intimate couples portraits at The Club.

Elegant Wedding Reception

The highlight of the evening was by far the Maid of Honor’s toast. Colleen’s sister ended it by singing “Sisters” from the movie White Christmas, complete with a blue fan and just a little dancing.
