Rustic Dogwood Farm Wedding

It is rare that I assist for weddings, in fact I have only ever done it twice in 11 years.  I did once when I first started into photography back in 2007 and then again recently to help out a fellow photographer that was in a bind.  This lovely wedding at Dogwood Farms in Alabama had all the romantic boho feels with a sweet first look between Leanne and Jay in the front of the pretty white barn before having a faith centered ceremony under a grand tree in the back field surrounded by some dear bridesmaids and groomsmen who honestly kept everyone laughing with their good sense of humor.

The Ring-bearer Lost It

Later they had a dance under the cafe lights and trees as the sun set before heading into the barn for an evening of dancing and time with family.  I would have to say my most favorite part of the day was watching a little boy as he sat observing the couples portraits after the ceremony.  Being a momma as well, I headed over to check on him as I noticed he was just bawling at the sight of LeeAnne and Jay as they took their portraits.  I asked him why he was so upset and he started crying even more.  It turns out that LeeAnne was his most favorite baby-sitter and he was terrified that now she was married she would move away and he would never see her again.  After hearing that, I made sure he got a special photo just with her before they headed inside for the evening.  It turns out she wasn’t moving . . and MAN that made his night!

This was my first time photographing at Dogwood Farms and I absolutely loved the classically romantic barn wedding with their amazing architectural doors and whitewashed exterior complete with stately historic trees surrounding the venue.  Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Wise.
