You just got engaged and are dreaming of the perfect outdoor wedding in savannah but there are so many to choose from. Today we are sharing the best outdoor wedding locations in Savannah and surrounding Low Country.
The grand staircase at the front of HollyOaks Plantation is the quintessential southern outdoor wedding location. With 500 year old oak trees draped in Spanish moss and a salt marsh by the back lawn, what’s not to love in the fall. Cool breezes and the owners southern hospitality make this one of my favorite wedding locations in Savannah.
When it comes to outdoor wedding locations, Wormsloe definitely brings the drama factor in with it’s 100 year old oak lined driveway. The wedding day wouldn’t be complete with out a portrait under it or the front archway that is a stop for engaged and newly married couples alike.
As an outdoor wedding location, this place has some of the widest varieties of options. From a Mediterranean garden to a grove of fruit and olive trees, the Botanical Gardens doesn’t disappoint. Once the wedding ceremony is over a great hall space is available indoors for receptions. Picking a favorite portrait location is almost impossible here!
A historical Greek revival mansion, the Ford Plantation was built in 1936 sits on the banks of the Ogeechee River. Situated in a exclusive residential community, this former plantation provides privacy and seclusion from the hustle of local city life. The formal gardens and reflecting pool act as the perfect location for a outdoor ceremony and tented reception. One of the most prestigious wedding venues in the area, it acted as a winter gathering place for families like the Vanderbilts and Rockefeller’s.
While not in Savannah, any list including weddings in the Lowcountry has to include the beautiful gem! With multiple outdoor event locations at Montage, like the Boathouse Lawn and Moreland Village Lawn this is by far my favorite venue in the southeast. Service is impeccable and the food my friends is divine as meals become a place to savor and enjoy the night!
When picking your outdoor ceremony location, consider not only the time of year, rain plan options, but also the style of the venue. Each of these venues has something special about it that we have fallen in love with. Once you have picked the perfect location, set up a meet up with us. We would love to help you create your first heirlooms of your wedding day.
