Early Summer

School is out for the summer and it finally feels warm enough to head to the beach for the afternoon.  All of us at the MRP office are excitedly watching our brides count down to their wedding day while helping others capture their newly engaged bliss.  With a busy few weeks ahead of us I am sharing a few of my summer wedding season time savers and some of our adventures from this past week.

Cold Brewed Coffee

Oh man do I love coffee!  So much so that it even makes an appearance in my promo video and I don’t start my day without a cup of it.  During the summer though, I don’t want to wait for it to cool off in order to drink it.  Several years back a friend of mine introduced me to the idea of cold brewed coffee and around June it makes an appearance in our fridge.  The Pioneer Woman has a super easy recipe and produces plenty of coffee for the week.  For an even better version of cold brew coffee, take some of it and freeze it for ice cubes the next day.

What to Wear

As a busy mom and a business owner, I don’t have a lot of time to shop.  As a gal who is six foot tall, finding something that is modest but doesn’t look like it was made in the 1600s is also super difficult.  When I find brands that work, I tend to stick with them.  Shopping is even better if I don’t have to go very far to do it.  Stitch Fix and their personal stylist insures that I always have great outfits to wear for any business occasion and Lularoe is amazing for cute dresses that take the thought out of having to get dressed.  Total win for a busy summer, trips to the beach, and sweet summer weddings.

Wren Chapel

The MRP Team took a little tour of Wren Chapel and part of the William and Mary Campus this past week.  Be still my architecture loving heart.  This chapel is amazing and I can’t wait to shoot several weddings here this fall.  From the beautiful dark wood to that amazing brick porch and massive windows, it is a wedding photographers dream.

Headshots for My College Roommate

I have known Mary since 1999 when she was my freshman roommate.  We both graduated with teaching degrees and later found our own way into photographing weddings.  It is always a treat to have her second shoot a wedding with me and even more so when I also get to do her headshots for her birthday this past week.  Happy Birthday, my sweet friend!  It was a joy to celebrate it with you and needs to be a yearly tradition!
