A Firefighter Engagement Session

When planning Katie and Jacob’s engagement session, one of the most important things for them to include was part of their first love, being a volunteer firefighter.  Katie and Jacob were both members of volunteer fire departments in their hometowns before ever meeting.  They met while both working for the same private ambulance company and fell in love.  Jacob now works full time for the Fire Department.   I love it when couples find ways to include things they are passionate about in their engagement session and wedding day.  They even have some pretty unique wedding rings that I can’t wait to share with you in October!  From turnout gear and suspenders to a beautiful ring and badge, this romantic session was just perfect.  I love that they also included their sweet spirited lab, Missy for part of the session.  Her pure puppy nature had us all laughing as she searched for her tennis ball.

Meet the Pros

Both Katie and Jacob said that they were a little unsure about being in front of the camera, claiming that they don’t ever take a good picture but these two rocked it like pros.  Jacob kindly wore his gear for Katie amidst the hot afternoon sun and Katie looked perfect in her romantic fluttery blue and white dress.  For the second half of the session we headed down to the beach.  Both Katie and Jacob said they spend a lot of time near the water fishing when they aren’t working.  Aren’t they just the cutest!  I can’t wait to photograph your wedding this fall Katie, as you become Mrs. Callis!
