South Street Brewery

When I first chatted with Stephanie and Robert about their engagement session, the two things that they wanted to include was their love of craft brews and beautiful rolling landscape.  Immediately Charlottesville came to mind and South Street Brewery was the perfect location to start our afternoon.  They graciously let us shoot in the back room of their brewery, cuddled up next to the tanks and gave us free reign to shoot in their beautiful restaurant as well.  If you are in Charlottesville, you simply have to check out their beer and food as it is divine!

Self-professed Foodies

Robert and Stephanie are self-professed foodies and we have connected over our mutual love of scratch made pierogis and good burgers.  Unbeknownst to me, they adore Eastern European cuisine and we spent a good part of the afternoon chatting about it with Ola, my second shooter who is originally from Poland.   I love that Robert refers to Stephanie as his “foodie and beer adventure soul mate” and how easily he could make Stephanie laugh.

Ruby

When I asked Stephanie about unique touches revolving around her wedding and engagement she explained to me that she didn’t have a traditional engagement ring, which I love.  Robert is a software engineer in Atlanta and one of the first programing languages he worked with was Ruby.  As a nod to his background, a beautiful red ruby sits at the center of her engagement ring with prongs made into the shape of a heart.  The ruby also happens to be Stephanie’s birthstone, perfect for that July birthday and this quirky couple.  They truly do have romantic chemistry.

Congrats Stephanie and Robert!  I can’t wait to photograph your wedding later this fall in Northern Virginia.  It is going to be amazing!
