Here you will find some of the celebrations, special occasions, and projects our team has been honored to document over the past 15 years.
Despite the cold weather, Kassie and Tyler were perfectly dressed for a Christmas engagement session in Colonial Williamsburg with a Burberry scarf and cheery red pea coat. These two have such a rich history together, having met in eight grade science class. Kassie remembers walking into the classroom and thinking how cute he was, only to sit next to him later and have him flick her ear. Turns out he was flirting.
They didn’t start dating until their sophomore year in high school and then only for three months. They got back together a year later and dated throughout the remainder of high school and college while attending Longwood University together. Tyler proposed their senior year on a repeat trip to Carter’s Mountain Apple Orchard, one they took every Labor Day.
In Kassie’s words, “He had gotten my best friend and her boyfriend to surprise me there and we had walked up part of a hill to head towards some trees to pick apples from, when Aly (my best friend and MOH) suggested we take a picture since the view was so pretty. Tyler and I were taking the picture when he got down on one knee and proposed! Right as he was ‘popping’ the question, he opened the ring box and out popped the ring onto the ground! Our friends that were there were captured a video of the whole thing and you can see the ring fall and even hear a little ping as it hits the gravel below. Luckily, the ring was totally fine, and we all got a great laugh out of it too, and joked that “the rock hit the rocks!” We have such a fun relationship between the two of us, that him dropping the ring just perfectly fits ‘us’ and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!”
We are so excited to record the next chapter of Kassie and Tyler’s story next summer when she walks down the aisle in a sweet and intimate Yorktown wedding.
