Here you will find some of the celebrations, special occasions, and projects our team has been honored to document over the past 15 years.
It started the first year we were married, or even maybe before that. I would always have a dilemma over what to buy Jason for Christmas. It wasn’t because he is hard to shop for but that he would just go out and purchase without fail, the one thing I had on my list to get him. After about the third year of this I instituted the “No Buying Yourself Stuff after Thanksgiving” rule. I just caught him yesterday about to do it again, leaving me with nothing under the tree to get him or it being something REALLY random and out there. So if you find yourself at a loss for what to get your guy for Christmas, I have put together a little Christmas Gift Guide just for you.
Jason hates to shop for himself and was in desperate need of new clothes a few years ago. It was bad enough that, I would have to go through his closet and throw stuff out because it was literally broken or falling apart. We stumbled across Five Four and it has been the perfect solution for getting him clothing that he desperately needed without dragging him to go shopping. Think a much simpler version of Stitch Fix but for men.
I love things that are personalized and so when you can give a meaningful gift like these adorable cufflinks or a tie clasp it is way better than a standard round cufflink with no character to it. These were from a recent wedding and were for the groom who owned a sweet puppy just like this. Tie clasps are also a great way to avoid giving the stereotypical gift of a tie.
We love subscription boxes in our house. Like REALLY love them. For us it is a guaranteed happy mail that comes several times a year. This year I found one called the Man Crate and I have to say that this might just be Jason’s Christmas gift. I just have to narrow it down to whether it will be the Whiskey Appreciation Kit with etched glasses similar to the one pictured above or a travel survival kit. I have to say the “New Dad Tactical Bag” cracks me up. Other subscription boxes we have loved include Try the World and Blue Apron as it tends to make our foodie hearts very happy.
If you still aren’t sure what to get him, my go to suggestion would be to find out what his drink of choice is and get a really really nice bottle of whatever that may be. For Jason, it’s a bottle of Johnny Walker Gold or Blue label and for me a bottle of Cakebread merlot. Package it with a really nice mix and at the end of the day, it may be a simple gift but one that will be savored and enjoyed.
