Here you will find some of the celebrations, special occasions, and projects our team has been honored to document over the past 15 years.
Hiring a wedding stylist for your day is becoming increasingly popular with both couples and their wedding vendors. Recently, at a December wedding, we had the pleasure of adding in a wedding stylist to our team for the day and it was incredibly delightful for both the bride and us. If you have never heard of a wedding stylist before, no worries. . . we are going to dive into that and more on why we think you need a wedding stylist.
There are a lot of terms that get thrown around when it comes to wedding vendors and while we think every wedding should have a full-service planner, they are not to be confused with a stylist. Planners manage and organize the day while controlling the chaos and maintaining the timeline. Stylists on the other hand are like the final touch of lipstick before you walk down the aisle. They make sure that every bow is tied perfectly, every detail is expertly arranged on the reception table, and that your invitation suite is styled beautifully. While a planner can certainly have a skill set of a wedding day stylist, it is often incredibly difficult for them to do both without a team behind them.
Without the right team in place on a wedding day, a couple and their bridal party can often feel rushed and stressed. One of the biggest advantages of having a stylist as part of the vendor team is that alleviation of stress. It allows the planner to focus on managing the day. Wedding stylists allow photographers (who often have to act as stylists) to capture the day authentically while knowing that every detail is in place.
One of the biggest blessings of having a stylist in our corner was the timeline. If a portion of the day was running late, knowing that the details were already arranged beautifully, allowed members of our team to come in and photograph it, rather than spend additional time styling reception details or invitation suites.
When collaborating with a wedding day stylist, expect to have a conversation ahead of the wedding day. This will include a discussion of the look of the wedding day, overall feel, colors, textures, and even the type of flowers for the event. This will allow the wedding stylist to bring any additional props and mats as well as ribbons that correspond with the look of the day. In some cases, they communicate with the floral designer as well as part of their job as a flay lay stylist.
As a photographer, expect after having a stylist on the vendor team for a wedding that you will want to have one at every wedding. As a couple, expect that your day will be more effortless with the addition of having a stylist to ensure that every detail you dreamed of is perfect.
