Empress Stationary

I first learned of Empress Stationery through Instagram.  Jessica’s images in her Instagram feed are simply a divine  showcase of her talent with custom monograms and letterpress invitations as well as her styling capabilities.  I love that she is now sharing her knowledge of styling with others in intimate one – on -one classes.  It was an honor to capture her first class with Becky from Becky’s Brides.

One Take Away

One of the take aways I learned from her was that as a photographer we often shoot the invitation suite with shoes, rings, or flowers on top of beautiful letterpress stationary.  While that creates a beautiful image, she isn’t able to use it as easily as other wedding vendors.  Take a second and shoot the invitation suite without covering your designers beautiful work.

Styling Tools for a Wedding Day

While I carry a small kit for styling on a wedding day, it was like being a kid in a candy store getting to look through all the little dishes, letter seals, and stamps that Jessica had in her studio.  Here are a few things I would suggest carrying in your kit.

• Ribbon that goes with the look for the wedding day
• Pretty stamps
• Tiny ring dishes
• Small pieces of foam core squares
• Tweezers
• Flower buds
