Here you will find some of the celebrations, special occasions, and projects our team has been honored to document over the past 15 years.

Some love stories begin with a swipe. Others begin with fate. Chris and Alexa’s story began long before either of them knew what love even meant. Long before wedding plans, Palm Springs proposals, or dancing beneath Lowcountry skies, they were simply two kids whose parents belonged to the same wine club.
While the adults gathered upstairs sharing conversation over glasses of wine, Chris and Alexa spent evenings downstairs playing together, completely unaware that decades later those same families would gather again, this time to celebrate their wedding.
Their Oldfield Club wedding in Bluffton, South Carolina wasn’t just the beginning of a marriage. It was the continuation of a story that had been quietly unfolding for years. If you haven’t already, be sure to read about their engagement session in our Lowcountry Engagement Session blog to see where their journey began.
Chris and Alexa remained part of each other’s lives through school. Sometimes the strongest relationships don’t begin with butterflies. They begin with friendship. That lifelong foundation shines through every interaction they share. Whether they’re laughing over a private joke, quietly holding hands, or simply looking at one another across a room, there’s an ease between them that can’t be manufactured.
As Chicago natives who love exploring together, traveling with family, discovering incredible restaurants, and spending weekends with their cocker spaniel Weller (named after Chris’s favorite bourbon), they knew they wanted a wedding that reflected both their story and the people who helped write it.
One of the most meaningful parts of Alexa’s wedding day happened before anyone arrived at the ceremony.
Instead of getting ready in a hotel, Alexa chose her parents’ beautiful new estate just a short walk from the club itself. There was something incredibly personal about beginning the day surrounded by the home where so many new family memories would be made.
Natural light poured through the windows while laughter echoed throughout the house as bridesmaids helped with final touches. Then came one of the day’s most emotional moments. Alexa stepped outside into the backyard for a first look with her father. As her mother and bridesmaids quietly watched, he turned to see his daughter fully dressed as a bride for the very first time. The emotion on his face spoke volumes before either of them said a word.
The backyard soon became the setting for another unforgettable first look. Chris waited patiently beneath the trees while Alexa walked toward him. The moment he turned around, every ounce of anticipation transformed into pure joy. His smile was immediate. His expression said everything words couldn’t.
After photographing hundreds of weddings, it’s still these genuine reactions that remind me why I love documenting weddings. You can never script authentic emotion, and Chris wore every bit of his on his face.
No Southern wedding at Oldfield Club would be complete without honoring one of the South’s favorite wedding traditions. Months before the wedding, Chris and Alexa buried a bottle of bourbon on the property. Legend says that burying bourbon exactly one month before your wedding prevents rain on the big day. But theirs carried even deeper meaning. The bourbon, Weller, was the very same name as their beloved one-year-old cocker spaniel.
Together they returned to the spot, dug it up, and shared laughter over a tradition that perfectly blended Southern heritage with a piece of their own story. It’s details like these that transform a wedding from beautiful into unforgettable.
Nestled along the Okatie River in Bluffton, Oldfield Club offers everything couples imagine when they dream about a Lowcountry wedding. Towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss with miles of marshland and quiet river views.
There’s a peaceful elegance throughout the property that never competes with the celebration—it simply frames it beautifully. Every path, every lawn, and every oak tree feels intentionally designed for timeless wedding photographs. For couples planning a Bluffton wedding, Oldfield creates an atmosphere that’s refined without feeling formal and luxurious without ever losing its warmth.
While guests celebrated, cocktail hour became an experience in its own right. Freshly shucked oysters brought unmistakable Lowcountry flavor to the evening while conversations flowed effortlessly between friends and family. Then came one of the most unexpected highlights.
A roaming magician wandered through the crowd, leaving guests laughing, amazed, and comparing theories after every trick. It wasn’t just cocktail hour. It became another shared memory.
Every wedding has one speech people remember. At Chris and Alexa’s wedding, it belonged to Chris’s brother. His toast perfectly balanced humor with heartfelt storytelling, leaving guests laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next. The best speeches aren’t performances but reflections of a lifetime of memories. And his reminded everyone exactly why these two belonged together.
As dinner gave way to dancing, the celebration transformed into exactly what Chris and Alexa had hoped for during their engagement session. A room filled with every favorite person in their lives. Friends danced. Families celebrated. Generations shared one dance floor. There was no rush. No pressure. Just joy.
As the evening came to a close, guests lined the exit holding shimmering silver streamers while Chris and Alexa made their way toward a waiting trolley. Surrounded by cheers, laughter, and sparkling ribbons catching the evening light, they climbed aboard and headed into married life exactly the way they’d hoped.
One of my favorite things about photographing Chris and Alexa wasn’t simply documenting a beautiful wedding. It was witnessing a relationship built on years of genuine friendship. From childhood playdates to college romance. From a proposal surrounded by the mountains of Palm Springs to vows exchanged beneath the live oaks of Oldfield Club. Every chapter naturally led to the next. Their wedding reminded everyone in attendance that the strongest marriages often begin with the strongest friendships. And if their wedding day was any indication, they’re only getting started.
