Here you will find some of the celebrations, special occasions, and projects our team has been honored to document over the past 15 years.
I have been looking forward to Brittany’s wedding at Douglas Manor for awhile. Not only is she a fellow Alpha Gam but when I first met Brittany and Ben last November, I knew immediately that their wedding day was going to be filled with fun and laughter. During their engagement session he kept Brittany giggling the whole time and you could tell that they dearly adored each other.
The day of the wedding, Jason and I kept a close eye on the weather, praying that the clear sky would stay through their first look and ceremony at Douglas Manor. The weather was perfect as Brittany met Ben out by the lake in one of the most emotional first looks ever. There were definitely some tears as he turned around to see her in her wedding dress.
Brittany also chose to have a first look with her dad before the ceremony and gifted both him and her mom with beautiful personalized blue and white handkerchiefs that definitely came to good use as they headed to the ceremony out by the lake. Thunderclouds continued to threaten rain with a loud thunderclap right before their first kiss as husband and wife. Even then the rain held off.
With that everyone headed inside for an evening of fun and dancing. Before Ben and Brittany opened the dance floor, they had a private dinner complete with a very special rack of ribs and bag of barbecue chips brought all the way from Oklahoma by her grandfather. When she was four, Brittany announced at a family barbecue that when she got married that was exactly what she wanted at her wedding and her family made sure that it happened. It was definitely a fun surprise to capture as she walked in to dinner expecting just her catered meal and was met with chips and ribs.
The rest of the evening was spent with laughter, good memories shared, and dancing complete with her dad and uncles dancing Gagnamam style up on the stage. The evening was rounded out with an Alpha Gam rose ceremony that I had the honor of participating in as a fellow sorority sister and then the couple left in a beautiful sparkler exit. As Brittany and Ben got into the limo to leave for their honeymoon, the skies final broke free and it began pouring rain. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Hall. It has been a true honor capturing this season of your life and the first day of forever together.
