The 2020 Pantone color of the year is classic blue. For the wedding industry that means that 2020 weddings are going to trend towards using blues in wedding and bridesmaids dresses as well as table decor in a wide variety of textures and shades of blue. If you are more of a classic bride and don’t want to go wild with sporting a blue wedding dress, then might I recommend a more subtle way to incorporate the color of the year into your big day.
From furniture rentals to table linens and even cake, subtle French blue is a good alternative to the stronger classic blue. To keep your color palette modern we recommend bright pops of lemon and grapefruit as unique and fragrant table decor for a early spring or late summer lawn wedding.
This editorial shoot recently featured in Low Country Wed and Tacari features on trend pops of blue as well as textured velvet blue linens. Hand-painted linen monogrammed napkins add an additional layer of customization that is also reflected in the hand lettered invitations.
While most wedding guests are not going to want to bite into a bright blue fondant cake, the theme can still be carried through in a lightly marbled blue, grey, and white cake with just a touch of metallic gilding.
Want to really go full in with a something blue wedding? Have your groom and his best friends pick out a Pantone Blue suit paired with a floral tie. We loved the one we used from Amazon in this shoot for an additional layer of pattern.
