A Secret

We had intended to share this little secret back in January when Jason got accepted to Duke University for his masters level program and then plans changed, repeatedly, as they are want to do in the Army sometimes.  We got word on Valentine’s day that plans had changed and then again on his birthday.  So this poor little post has been languishing in draft mode for awhile.  As of today his orders are officially signed and we are headed two hours from family and a days drive down to his.  We are so very excited for this move but it is bittersweet.

A Start

Virginia is where this business matured.  I may have planted its seed back in 2007 and brought it to its toddlerhood in 2009 but this is where I renamed and rebranded my business.  This is where we went full force into the wedding industry.  The sweet people that I have met in Hampton Roads make it all that much harder to leave.  Some have become like sisters to me and aunts to my kiddos.  We have had wise industry pros speak life into areas that were just a dream and are now growing into fruition later this week, so Virginia has become near and dear to me.

Where We Are Going

Let’s just say that Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” has been on a loop in our brains.  We are so excited to announce that this summer we will be relocating to Birmingham, Alabama.  J will be attending UAB to obtain his Masters in Nursing and we have already started to lay the ground work for the move.  Not to worry though, we still have several dates through the fall where we will be back in town with plenty of time to grab coffee together, capture an anniversary session, and enjoy this area just a little bit more.  Starting on Thursday, we would love for you to follow along in our moving journey with our new baby, The Restart Specialist, but more on that a little later.  But for now, we are gonna crank some music and make our list of places and things to visit and do just one last time before we start to pack this summer.  For now I will leave you with some favorite personal photos from our stay here.
