Colonial Williamsburg Anniversary Session

I loved getting to photograph Brandon and Lara’s family at Colonial Williamsburg this past week.  In Lara’s words, it has become an almost daily playground for her kids to run around and explore.  With the College of Williams and Mary right down the street where Branson is attending, it is the perfect place to document this year in their family’s life.  As with all my Anniversary sessions, it isn’t just about you and your spouse.  The session is not only meant to document the beauty of your marriage but also the legacy of the children in it.

Boys and Boxcar Children

It was a joy capturing sweet expressive Lottie and smiling Colin as they watched the cows in Colonial Williamsburg and waved at the horse drawn carriages as they passed by.  It was just perfect that the carriage based by at the right time so we not only had the Governors Palace in the background but the horses as well.  Colin truly had me giggling as he told me about the Boxcar Children Series and the adventures they went on.  I think he was a little surprised to learn I read them growing up as well.  His generous little self kept trying to share the pocket full of almonds he was toting around and was thrilled to tell us about the big birthday he had just had.

The Perfect Spring Time Romper

I love that Lara chose a pretty blue and yellow spring time romper for Lottie to wear and then built beautiful and casual outfits from there.  This allowed both her and Brandon as well as the kids easy of movement and the ability to enjoy their fun filled session.  This really let the kids personalities shine through as they climbed fences and chased squirrels around the palace grounds.
