I fell in love with the flavor of the southwest a few years ago while living in San Antonio and the idea of bringing a little of that to the east coast had me jumping for joy. From a vintage Mexican wedding dress that has been sitting in my closet to a friend who was dying to design a bridal bouquet with air plants and succulents, this is the perfect summer wedding to entice any bride. We even had a special surprise at the end, when the Karnage Asada Food Truck went above and beyond just being there to feeding us an amazing taco dinner.
When we first met, the vendor team wanted to highlight the idea of a wedding that gives back and when Karen suggested Noonday Collection, it was the perfect launching point for this idea. Noonday Collection is an accessory company that is empowering women globally while creating dignified jobs in vulnerable communities. There items are handcrafted and sometimes made from something ugly (like bullet casings) into something beautiful while providing employment to women in third world countries. We also approached this wedding with the idea of hosting it a venue that is a 501(3)c where the money normally spent on a venue would go back into the community. Lastly, we looked at the idea of reusing and reducing the footprint on a wedding day by decorating with air plants and using heirloom dresses and furniture.
A huge thank you to our vendors who worked tirelessly to make this shoot happen and especially to the Karnage Asada Truck for feeding us some amazing tacos. I think we will all say that was the highlight of our evening.
