The Richmond Hill Historical Society hosted its most ambitious and memorable event yet, the Centennial Celebration Soirée, held at the storied Ford Field & River Club. This landmark evening marked 100 years of Henry and Clara Ford’s enduring influence on the Richmond Hill community.

Where History Meets Celebration

Set within the historic Main House—once the winter estate of the Fords and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places—the venue provided an atmospheric backdrop of live oaks, Spanish moss, and Low-country charm. The private architectural tour offered guests the rare privilege of stepping into the legacy of a bygone era while see what had been done to update the home for modern usage.

An Evening to Remember

That evening the home came alive with music and dancing while others enjoyed sitting by the pool as the sun set drinking champagne.  Members and their guests traveled from around the region for an unforgettable celebration and fundraiser.  All proceeds from the soirée directly benefited the Richmond Hill Historical Society’s mission: preserving the story of the Fords and safeguarding the cultural heritage of the region. As part of the Society’s biannual Ford Legacy Gala series, this Centennial celebration served as its most significant fundraising event of the year.
