Williamsburg is one of my favorite places during the fall for anniversary and engagement sessions.  From the crunchy yellow leaves to the warm tones on the historic houses, it is just perfect.  What often isn’t perfect is the planning process.  Figuring out what to wear has often been my clients first concern and I am here to help with that.  With a degree in art, I can help you plan out the perfect color palette to help you feel confident and rock your e-session or anniversary shoot, no matter what the season.

1. Compliment the Environment:  I really wanted to make sure that for our anniversary session, we complimented our environment but didn’t blend into the background.  For the fall purples, blues, and creams are a great pairing with the colors of the leaves without competing and distracting your eye.
2. Get a Personal Stylist: Life gets busy and for me I don’t have lots of time to shop.  I know what I like but finding clothes for someone that is 6ft makes things a little more difficult.  Last week I talked about using Stitch Fix for special events and occasions to make your life easier.  I told you about the pretty purple dress I had all picked and how much I loved wearing it.  Wait, you don’t see a dress?
3. Think Outside the Box: I still ended up wearing my purple dress but I felt way more overdressed than I wanted to be.  Since the fabric was pretty thin, I simply flipped it up and turned it into a longer shirt instead.  It worked like a charm and I now have two outfits instead of one.

Don’t be afraid to try new things for your engagement session but if you are feeling adventurous, make sure you do it about a month in advance.  This way you have time to either enjoy that new hairstyle or get it changed to something you love better.  For more what to wear tips, check back on Thursdays.
