Deltaville Firefighter Wedding

The weather was perfect with crystal blue skies for an October wedding at the Deltaville Maritime Museum.  Katie got ready for the first look at the museum while Jake got ready at a local Matthews Fire station, the perfect setting for him since both he and Katie were volunteer firefighters long before they met.  Working full time for a private ambulance company brought them together and I love that they both included parts of their story throughout their day.  Due to the nature of their jobs, they can’t wear traditional wedding bands and so each had a special band, one blue and white, while the other is black and red.

An Amazing First Look

This was by far one of the best first looks to document ever.  Katie looked like a princess as she walked down the wooded path behind the museum.  Jake was visibly nervous and told me he had butterflies waiting to see her.  The moment he turned around both Katie and Jake started crying tears of joy and took time to just soak in the moment.  After the first look we moved on to couples portraits and Jake stopped me for a moment saying, “Can I just stand over here while you photograph Katie and just look at how beautiful she is.”

I Cross My Heart

Jake and Katie got married as the sun started to set, surrounded by friends and family, and the cutest ring bearers ever.  After dinner, they danced  to a classic George Strait song from the movie Pure Country, “I Cross My Heart” and it was the perfect song to open up the evening to some dancing and laughter.  Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Callis!  May your married journey continue to be just that, filled with dancing and laughter.
