Last weekend I walked the dogwood filled college campus where Paul and Sophie met to capture their engagement session. Dressed in a pretty peach colored dress, Sophie giggled as Paul gazed adoringly at her sweet smile. When I asked Paul what his favorite thing was about Sophie he said, “She is my favorite person in the world to talk to – I can tell her anything, and she always thinks of something I never would have come up with on my own. She makes me a more complete, well-rounded person.”
I loved Sophie’s response to the same question I asked Paul, as she said, “I’m always excited to spend time with Paul, no matter what we’re doing – he’s really smart and thoughtful, he has a great sense of humor, and he helps me be more laid back and spontaneous about how I approach things.” I could tell how absolutely true that was as he kept Sophie laughing throughout the session.
Paul proposed to Sophie after going to dinner last September. On the way home, Paul stopped in front of the first place that he and Sophie had lived together and got down on one knee on the sidewalk right outside the building. Sophie was totally shocked and made him repeat his proposal a bunch of times after the fact, and then she said yes right away! I look forward to their fall winery wedding in September filled with blush details and a fun elegant evening.
